Interplay has unveiled more screenshots and details for it's upcoming Starfleet Command Volume II: Empires at War. The enhancement adds significant new
features to the original and will use Won.net to connect people for online gaming. Empires at War is in development at Taldren, a new design
studio containing members from the original team, and is scheduled for release this winter.
The campaign has been redesigned from the ground up to enable a richer solo experience, and will have a redesigned starship control
interface. The product will also feature new races, such as the Star League and the Interstellar Concordium. Of course, along with these come
their new weapon systems. For example, the Interstellar Concordium has a powerful Plasmatic Pulsar Device to enforce peace. The Star
League specializes in missile combat and has the most fearsome cruisers ever seen.
The United Federation of Planets, the Romulan Star Empire, the Klingon Empire, the Gorn Confederation, the Lyran Star Empire, the Hydran
Kingdom, the Interstellar Concordium and the Star League will all vie for control of the galaxy. Every battle will be gauged to determine the
political allegiance of hundreds of sectors of territory. People will be able to gain prestige and rating points to command bigger ships, and join
detachments to augment their battle plans.
