Incoming Forces
Developed in the UK by the award winning Incoming team, Incoming Forces will hit European shops in the second quarter of the new Millenium. Incoming Forces uses Rage Software's next generation 3D render engine – Blitter Generation II. The team has also included an advanced physics engine to deliver fully realistic craft behaviour.
Incoming Forces is a mission-packed action game with strategy/resource management elements - the player taking on the role of head of an alien defence force. Set 20 years after the first Incoming game, Earth has now discovered the secret of sustainable long distance space travel. Their forces are gathered and seeking to destroy all hostile races – in particular four alien planets in a small galaxy that is now the player's job to defend. The objective of the game is simple yet hugely challenging – complete all of the missions successfully and then endure a massive final battle sequence with Earth's forces and thus save the alien world's you are there to protect.
Incoming Forces has two key play single modes: campaign mode, which allows the player to undertake over 21 missions across four different worlds; and a sizzling Arcade Mode, which offers no-holds-barred shoot-'em-up action across the four different worlds in any of the game's numerous crafts. There is an added bonus in that the more the player plays campaign mode, the more options become available to him in arcade mode.
Game Features:
Over ten different craft to control and the ability to change craft at will. These include gunships, fighters, tanks, an escape pod, assault robots all including secret alien technology craft.
The player can research and develop their own new craft and weapons within the real-time engine.
Four completely individual and modelled planets - Fantasy, Life, Fortress and Core - with unique scenes and objects.
All four campaigns have their own dedicated story line and characters. The player assumes the roles of Recon Officer, Undercover Agent, Infantry and Combat Pilot.
Fully articulated ground troops to add a true sense of scale to the 3D worlds.
Advanced physics engine that allows life-like motion of objects in real-time and an unbelievable gaming environment.
Full third party joystick support including force feedback.
The biggest explosions ever!
A great battlescape option that allows players to issue orders and thus take on multiple objectives at the same time.
